Types of Rehome:
SHARE: Horse is to stay at current yard with owner. Horse is then shared a few days a week as agreed between both parties. Can include riding, care of horse and financial contribution. A rehoming fee comes to RMH payable by the person taking the horse on. If you are listing your horse as a share horse RMH suggest including a rehoming/share fee of around £50
LOAN: Loanee takes on full responsibility of the horse as agreed with the owner which includes financially. Loans can be moved to different yards if agreeable with the owner. A rehoming fee comes to RMH payable by the person taking the horse on. If you are listing your horse as a loan horse please do include the length of loan. RMH suggest including a rehoming/loan fee of between £100 – £200 depending on horse.
OWNERSHIP TRANSFER: Generally, for those horses with little or no market value. Owner foregoes a sale price and essentially gifts their horse. Once a home is found ownership is handed over. A rehoming fee comes to RMH payable by the person taking the horse on. It should also be noted that the rehoming agreement includes clauses where if the new owner were to need to rehome the horse in the future they would need in the first instance notify the previous owner and offer horse back at no extra cost, if this is not an option the horse would need to be relisted back through RMH and not on the open market. If you are listing your horse as ownership transfer RMH suggest including a rehoming fee of between £100 and £400 depending on the type of horse.
SALES: As with any sale once a home is found the purchaser pays the seller a set fee. ALL SALES HORSES AND PONIES MUST BE LISTED WITH A SALE PRICE OF £800 OR OVER.
